In 1926, Greta Garbo’s first U.S. film, “Torrent” opened. Believe it or not, Greta Garbo’s first job was not acting, but selling Salvation Army newspapers in Sweden! At six years old, she sold the “Stridsropet” (The War Cry), the Salvation Army newspaper. Greta would spend her first money to go to the movies theaters.
