After spending a week at Camp Hoblitzelle last summer, a little girl from Crystal City got off the bus and ran to her mother. Her mother gently pulled her aside and began to explain to her that her father had left them, that they had no money and that she didn’t know how they were going to make it. The little girl immediately pulled out her Bible, which was marked with the verses that she had studied all week at camp. She told her mother, “Its ok… God provides… He fed 5,000 people with loaves and fishes, he will take care of us.”
The little girl’s mother contacted the service unit director for that region, to find out who gave the Bible to her daughter. She came to our office in Crystal City and met with our social worker. The social worker talked about Jesus Christ with her and what He could do in her life if she accepted Him as Savior. The little girl’s mother then prayed and accepted Christ into her life. She was given a Bible in Spanish and is now attending a small Baptist church near their home with her daughter and other family members.
