Salvation Army Today for Tuesday, February 11, 2014
/in Blog, Salvation Army Today /byToday’s episode includes a story about Australia‘s bush fires, and a rehabilitation story from Abilene, Texas.
Thank you, San Antonio!
/in Blog /byOn behalf of my fellow officers, our committed staff and our wonderful volunteers, Tracey and I would like to say “thank you” to our community for helping make our 2013 Christmas season a huge success. Thanks to your unwavering generosity through your donations and the volunteer hours of caring individuals and local corporations, our Angel Tree Program was able to make Christmas special for more than 6,000 San Antonio children who otherwise likely would not have had a gift under their tree this past year. We were also extremely blessed that we had team of bell ringers who stood outside for long hours – often in frigid temperatures – to ensure that our annual Red Kettle Program was a huge success. Monies raised through the red kettles go directly to needy families right here in San Antonio. As little as $5 can make sure that a child gets three warm meals and has a place to sleep at night. Without the help from this community, our year-round service to others would not be possible. We look forward to working with you all again this year. God Bless!
Yours in service,
Maj. Russell Czajkowski
Area Commander
