Real western cowboys on horseback led a “Cattle Drive for the Kettle Drive” around Ridgmar Mall on November 19 to publicly launch The Salvation Army’s red kettle drive in Fort Worth. Following behind the herd of cattle was a real chuck wagon pulled by a team of horses. The wagon had red kettles tied all around the sides. A Salvation Army brass band played the theme from the TV show “Bonanza.” Bell ringers on foot carried kettles and rang cowbells instead of traditional Salvation Army bells.
