Louisville, Kentucky – As storms roll through Kentucky and Tennessee, they leave behind pockets of destruction. The Salvation Army is experienced at picking up the pieces of broken lives and shattered hope and are at work in those communities in times of disaster—like today—and throughout the year.
As further storms threaten a large swath of the central and eastern United States, The Salvation Army stands ready and alert to meet impending needs.
Help comes in many forms: a cup of water, a nourishing meal, a clean-up kit*; but all of The Salvation Army’s help comes with Hope. Hope for today, Hope for tomorrow, Hope for the future.
Right now, canteens (mobile feeding units) are on alert throughout the Kentucky and Tennessee Division. Salvation Army personnel are in communication with state and local authorities and are prepared to respond as needed when and where appropriate.
Financial donations are always needed to support relief efforts. The Salvation Army asks those who want to help the individuals and families affected by disaster to visit www.YourSalvationArmy.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate “disaster efforts.” Monetary donations will ensure The Salvation Army can meet the most immediate needs of those impacted most.
