Salvation Army Crews Feed Volunteers and Families in North Minneapolis—Massive clean up effort on Saturday

Minneapolis, MN — Supporting an army of cleanup volunteers sweeping North Minneapolis Saturday morning, local Salvation Army disaster crews used three mobile kitchens, a refrigerated truck filled with boxed lunches, bottled water and 1,000 breakfast pastries. After seeing off the first contingency of volunteers on metro buses, Salvation Army mobile kitchens headed to North Minneapolis neighborhoods to continue the support with cold water, snacks and noon meals for local families.

Along with providing food and water to families and volunteers over the last 12 days, The Salvation Army service center has provided more than $134,000 in financial assistance to tornado survivors from its center at 2024 Lyndale Ave N, Minneapolis.
