Salvation Army Joplin Disaster Social Services Now Open at Oasis—Emergency services and assistance free to the public

Joplin, MO — The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Social Services has relocated from The Bridge to The Salvation Army Oasis located on the corner of 26th & Main effective today. Joplin residents in need of social service support for food, clothing, gas, meals, beverages, toiletries and other critical support and information will find assistance at the Oasis from 9-5 p.m. daily. All Salvation Army Emergency services and assistance are free to the public.

Other Emergency Disaster Services Ongoing in Joplin:
The Salvation Army is partnering with HOPE Station to provide hope to the Joplin community. This will be a 5 week event which will include music, art, food, worship and opportunities for people to share their stories of hope.

The campaign now in progress and is also held at the Salvation Army’s Oasis off 26th and Main. Included is a nightly dinner, live music, a kid’s station with donated toys, guest speakers, and more. The Salvation Army Lost & Found located on the corner of 26th & Main at The Salvation Army Oasis is now open daily from 9-5 p.m. Joplin residents can drop off items they find of individuals affected by the May 22 tornado.

The Salvation Army Lost & Found is a place where the community can come and bring lost family items to be reunited with owners.

Donations of used Household Goods and Clothing:
Due to the high expense and time demands associated with delivering your gently-used household goods and clothing (gifts-in-kind), The Salvation cannot guarantee that any individual gifts-in-kind donated now will be sent to the disaster area. In time of disaster, our stores fill these needs from existing, pre-sorted stock.
