The Salvation Army Continues to Assist Pulaski and Draper Tornado Victims

Christiansburg, VA — The Salvation Army New River Valley Corps continues to respond to twin tornadoes that struck the Pulaski and Draper Virginia communities.

Captain Jim Forrer states, “For those who are in need of assistance, The Salvation Army continues to be with them. We continue to provide material, emotion and spiritual support. We continue to adjust our assistance as families complete clean-up and repairs.”

To date The Salvation Army has distributed 429 hot meals into the affected areas as well as 610 snacks and hundreds of bottles of water. To families who are gathering their possessions and cleaning their homes volunteers and staff have distributed 160 cleaning kits, as well as 150 storage containers and hundreds of sealable storage. The Salvation Army is also distributing gift cards to help families purchase house repair items.
