Shreveport, LA – On Wednesday, December 08, 2010, The Salvation Army of Shreveport-Bossier received an anonymous check totaling $100,000 in one of its red kettles.
This generous gift will help The Salvation Army continue to aid residents of the Shreveport-Bossier area. The gift will provide for continued service in some of the following ways:
• 10,000 nights of lodging for housing women, children, veterans and men ($10 per night per person)
• 5,000 families for four days each ($20 will serve a family of four for four days)
• 100,000 pairs of socks to seniors in nursing ($1 a pair)
“No matter what size the gift, $1-$100,000, The Salvation Army is thankful for the continued generosity of our donors in the Shreveport-Bossier area,” stated Major Mark Smith of the Salvation Army. “While this donation is significant, the need still exists in Shreveport more than ever. Please continue to support those familiar red Kettles through Dec. 24, 2010.”
