On This Day In History—February 22

In 2011, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck Christchurch, New Zealand. The city was still recovering from the 7.1 Canterbury (Darfield) earthquake, that hit just months before in September 2010. The Salvation Army provided relief to thousands of people affected by this disaster and had re-launched the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal. Doing the Most Good, in times of disaster!

It’s Presidents’ Day! Presidents’ Day is celebrated in the US on the 3rd Monday of February, honoring the birth of George Washington (actually born on Feb 22, 1732). We don’t have any pics with George Washington and The Salvation Army of course, but we do have some of our leaders with other Presidents of the US! Take a look, & Happy Presidents’ Day!
