Salvation Army and Jordan Ford hitting streets to provide cold weather relief to homeless
San Antonio, TX –The Salvation Army will team up with Jordan Ford to provide cold weather relief to displaced individuals on Thursday. The Salvation Army’s Rapid Response Unit (mobile feeding truck) will be positioned just west of downtown at 11:30 a.m. as the group will distribute sack lunches, blankets, winter clothes, hygiene kits and other items to the homeless. They will also encourage individuals to go to local shelters, such as The Salvation Army, to seek additional relief from the cold. Employees from Jordan Ford conducted a coat drive in recent weeks to prepare for the outing.
WHEN: Thursday, Jan. 22, 2025 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Area of Frio Road and Houston Street intersection (west of downtown).

Please note: Look for The Salvation Army truck. We will possibly drive or walk to other nearby locations depending on foot traffic/parking.
The Salvation Army will open the lobbies of the Emergency Family Shelter and the Dave Coy Center for the public to seek relief and will remain open 24 hours. The Goslinowski Social Services lobby will also be available to the public from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Anyone wanting to get out of the cold is welcome to come into any of these locations:
